Tonight's episode
"An Absurdly Untelevised 40th Birthday Episode"
From the same "I'm not really into birthdays" birthday boy who brought you party themes like "Scott's Cat-Themed 30th PURRthday" (2016), "XXXmas in August" (2018), and the site-specific fan-favorite "Annoying Bachelorette Party at the Gay Bar" (2022), you're invited to an over-the-top birthday in the form of a talk show.
Equal parts ode to aging with panache, and and a platform for testing how many fart jokes you can pack into a midlife crisis, this (technically private) soirée's episode lineup includes (subject to change, per the grand tradition of live television):
Co-host Amanda Jacobson — actual comedian from the hit podcast Wine & Crime, actual childhood best friend — anchors the "Morning Show"-style segment, featuring celebrity gossip of dubious sourcing and a few madcap surprises we are legally not ready to describe.
Audience game wrangler Scotty Reynolds, sexiest mustachioed opera clown-about-town, which means participation will be encouraged with professional-grade enthusiasm.
It's a family affair, with production support from Scott's siblings and parents, including a documentary film by Scott's father. Expected tone: funny. Threat level for unexpected tenderness: moderate to high.
Cat-herding (stage management) by Scott's tabletop roleplay Dungeon Master Andi Cheney, and set design by Madame of the Arts alum and glittery spectacle grande dame Caitlin Weiss.
Plus: punch, bubbly water, persistent rumors of dessert, and an interview segment and musical guest to be announced.
Admission and contributions
Your ticket is free. Reserving one makes sure there's room for everybody.
Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll receive a link to chip in toward hard production costs (venue, technician, hospitality). $10–25 is suggested, around $15 is genuinely helpful, and $0 is always welcome.
Contributing is entirely voluntary. It does not confirm tickets, change waitlist priority, or guarantee admission. No one will lose tickets or be excluded for lack of funds.
If contributions exceed the event's hard costs, the remainder will be donated to support The Aliveness Project's food shelf.
Access
Tell us what would make the evening work better for you.
Open Eye Theatre's public spaces (including endtrances/restrooms/stage) are accessible to wheelchair and mobility-device users, and service animals are welcome. Some seats near the stage are held for guests who benefit from closer proximity, step-free placement, service-animal space, or another support. The form includes optional, private access-request fields for you and a second guest. You never need to have or share a diagnosis. If the form itself creates a barrier, email Scott@ScottArtley.com or call/text 952-221-1724 — Scott can take your reservation directly and input it into this system.
